Topical numbing cream is applied onto the skin about 30 minutes prior to the treatment to maximize comfort. A layer of ultrasonic gel will be applied to the treatment areas right before the procedure. Our doctor will choose the appropriate handpiece depth and set the optimal energy according to patient’s skin condition. The handpiece is gently placed on the treatment area and multiple shots are delivered to the face according to treatment protocols.
Depending on the size of treatment areas and skin condition, the entire treatment will take approximately 15 to 30 minutes.
There may be some mild discomfort, slight aching and tingling sensation during the procedure but these are only temporary and well-tolerated by all patients.
The difference can be seen right after treatment but this is mainly due to very mild swelling and immediate tightening of the collagen fibre network caused by heat generated from the intense focused ultrasound waves. In the next 2 to 3 months, collagen regeneration will take place and this process can last up to 6 months.
Depending on the pre-existing skin condition and severity of skin laxity, treatment results can last up to 12 months after one single treatment. For better results, we highly recommend going for a repeat treatment in 6 to 9 months.
There is no significant downtime. You can return to daily activities immediately after treatment.
